The Tank Solo was introduced in 2004 as a pared-back interpretation of the Tank, retaining the proportions and cabochon crown of the collection while simplifying its construction. This example, reference 3168, pairs an 18K yellow gold case with a stainless steel case back, a configuration Cartier used across the Solo line.

The rectangular case measures 24mm × 31mm, with a beaded crown set with a blue synthetic spinel cabochon and a sapphire crystal. The silvered dial carries black Roman numerals and blued-steel sword hands. It runs on a Cartier quartz movement. Presented on a black crocodile strap.

The screwed case back is engraved with the Cartier signature, the markings for water resistance and Swiss manufacture, the metal designation ACIER / Au 750, and the reference and serial numbers.
