Cartier introduced the Tank Française in 1996, giving the Tank a squarer case and a more contemporary profile. This example is reference 1821, the midsize model in 18K yellow gold, produced in the 2000s.

The case measures 25mm × 30mm with a thickness of approximately 6.5mm, fitted with a beaded crown set with a cabochon and a sapphire crystal. The silvered dial carries black Roman numerals and blued-steel sword hands, with Cartier’s secret signature within the numerals. It runs on the Cartier calibre 157.06 quartz movement. Presented on a brown leather strap.

The case back is secured by four screws and engraved with the Cartier signature, the markings for water resistance and Swiss manufacture, the 18K gold designation with accompanying hallmarks, and the reference and serial numbers.
